ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (CelebrityAccess) — In a bit of much needed good news for beleaguered Atlantic City, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino announced the date for the grand opening of their latest outlet in the city.

The announcement, made by Chairman & CEO, Jim Allen, included an entertainment lineup with more than 50 concerts and events at the property.

“The Grand Opening of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will set the tone for a new era of entertainment in Atlantic City. Our 500 million dollar, newly reimagined property will offer something for everyone and we’re thrilled to welcome our first guests in June,” Allen stated during a press conference.

When it opens on June 28th, the music-inspired hotel will feature dining, live entertainment, a beach bar and a casino with more than 2,100 slot machines and 120 table games.

The entertainment lineup, which kicks off on July 1st Motor City Live: A Motown Tribute, also includes scheduled performances by Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, Kid Rock, Blake Shelton, a Toby Keith and Trace Adkins double bill and a performance by comedian Amy Schumer and friends.

“Bringing entertainment into the city mid-week at off-peak times will be a particularly persuasive reason for visitors to consider extending their stay,” Allen told the Las Vegas Journal-Review in February. “Turning a two-night weekend stay into a long weekend or mid-week getaway can make a huge difference for Atlantic City’s lodging, food and beverage, retail, gaming and tourism businesses.”

The A.C. Hard Rock is taking over the property formerly occupied by the Trump Taj Mahal, which filed for bankruptcy in 2014, and shuttered two years later. The new casino’s signature performance space will be the refurbed 7,000-capacity Mark G. Etess Arena, named after a former Trump exec who played a key role in the development of the Trump Taj Mahal, but who died in a helicopter crash in 1989.

The casino will also feature a second, 2,000-capacity performance space, which has yet to be named, as well as a Howie Mandel-branded comedy club.
