(CelebrityAccess) W Hotels have announced the brand is launching a festival series in the fall called “Wake Up Call,” with acts like Phantogram, Charli XCX, Martin Solveig, Gorgon City, Sam Feldt and Angus & Julia Stone already signed on.
The festival is expected to make stops at W properties in Hollywood, Barcelona, and Bali in 2018 and, next year, Dubai, hotel execs told TravelPulse. The Wake UP Call concept was launched at the W Scottsdale in 2016. The Hollywood performance will likely be capped at 800 to 1,000 whereas the Bali version will be around 3,000 to 5,000 capacity, W’s Pablo Henderson told TravelPulse.
The festival will take place on the hotel grounds and will feature WET deck parties, DJ master classes and live performances, including poolside performances, according to the magazine.
“We saw a unique opportunity to flip the music festival experience on its head a little bit, to control the environment and provide an experience that only we could provide because of the of W-ness of it all,” Henderson told TravelPulse. “The music festival has become such a relevant part of pop culture and has evolved over the last few years…While the music festival is really around music, it’s also an extension of a lifestyle experience.”
