TEXARKANA, Texas (CelebrityAccess) A man who was arrested early last month at a Texas airport allegedly told authorities he was there to steal a plane to fly it to another state for a rap concert.
Zemarcuis Devon Scott, 18, who was arrested at the Texarkana Regional Airport July 4 after airport security spotted a man jumping a fence to attempt to enter an American Eagle twin-engine jet, then called the police, according to the Texarkana Gazette. Scott allegedly told police that he didn’t think there was much to flying a plane except pushing buttons and pulling levers, according to a probably cause affidavit.
Police shined a flashlight into the plane’s cockpit and saw a man sitting in the pilot’s seat. Two officers apparently recognized Scott from previous encounters, according to the paper.
Scott was charged Monday with commercial burglary and attempted theft of property worth more than $25,000 – both felonies.
