PERTH, Australia (CelebrityAccess) Perth Arena in Australia has secured a naming rights sponsor and will be known in September as RAC Arena after signing an agreement with the auto insurance company RAC for five years.
The deal is part of the government’s election pledge to sell naming rights to two major venues to help fix the ailing budget in Western Australia, according to the Australian Associated Press.
“We inherited not only a record level of state debt, but also the perverse situation where WA taxpayers were forking out compensation for Perth Arena to not have a naming sponsor,” Treasurer Ben Wyatt said in a statement on Sunday.
