LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Selena Gomez has been reportedly hospitalized for the second time in two weeks, this time for what has been called an emotional breakdown and is at a mental health facility for treatment.
The first incident allegedly occurred after an “alarmingly low” white blood cell count led to a despondent and emotional Gomez had a family member driving her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, multiple sources told TMZ. The apparent condition occurred after the singer/actress underwent a kidney transplant.
She was released but the condition did not change causing Gomez to return, sources said. Doctors would not let her leave, causing a “meltdown” while trying to rip an IV out of her arm, sources said, adding that the episode was “an emotional breakdown.”
Gomez is currently being treated at an East Coast psychiatric facility and receiving dialectical behavior therapy, TMZ reported. The celebrity has had a near-blackout of social media recently after saying on a Sept. 23 Instagram Live Q&A that depression has consumed her for the last five years.
