HONG KONG (CelebrityAccess) — Warner Music announced the appointment of Sophie Jian as Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations for Warner Music Asia.
In her new role, Jian will be based in Warner Music’s Hong Kong office and report to Simon Robson, President, Warner Music Asia.
She will join the region’s senior management team alongside Calvin Wong, President, SE Asia, Hong Kong and Korea, and EVP Marketing, Warner Music Asia; Carmus Chan, Human Resources Director, Warner Music Asia; Cora Lam, SVP, Legal and Business Affairs, Greater China and South East Asia; and Robson.
Jian joins the label giant’s Asian unit after a stint in finance, including roles at Bloomberg Media Group, General Electric and Standard Chartered Banking Group.
Mostly recently, she was at Tallysticks, a financial technology start-up that facilitates international trade, where she was Commercial Advisor and Head of International Strategy.
Her career began at General Electric, where she worked in a variety of roles in both the GE Infrastructure and NBC Universal teams based in New York and London. While at Bloomberg, she was International Chief Finance Officer and Head of Operations covering both Asia and the EMEA region.
Jian holds a BA in economics from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, as well as an MBA in finance from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in the US.
