MARICOPA COUNTY, Az. (CelebrityAccess) — The organizers of the California Roots festival announced they are partnering with Arizona-based EDM promoter Relentless Beats to launch the inaugural Arizona Roots Festival in 2019.
Set for February 9th and 10th at Riverwalk at the Rawhide Western Town & Event Center, the festival will feature hip-hop, as well as progressive reggae and reggae roots music much akin to its California sibling.
Artists announced for the Arizona Roots lineup include Rebelution, Stick Figure, Atmosphere, Dispatch, J Boog, Trevor Hall, Collie Buddz, Katchafire, Mike Love, The Movement, Iya Terra., Xiuhtezcatl, and Synrgy. The festival will highlight Arizona’s reggae movement with Black Bottom Lighters, Clint Stevens, Rilen’Out!, Kill Babylon Coalition, and Tha Yoties.
“We are always looking to expand the California Roots brand and bring the movement to other communities,” states festival Co-Producer Dan Sheehan. He adds, “The Arizona market has been a very good market for all of the bands in our scene, so it made sense for us to make the move to Arizona to launch Arizona Roots Music & Arts Festival.”
Founded in 2010 by Jeff Monser with veteran talent buyer Dan Sheehan as a one-day event, the California Roots Festival has become one of the largest reggae fests in the U.S.
Tickets for the Arizona expansion of the brand go on-sale on Nov. 9th.
