8TULSA, Okla. (CelebrityAccess) Jeff Vecchio Nickler, the GM of the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla, has announced he is moving on and heading to the big-city lights of Los Angeles.
“To say that Tulsa is important to me is an understatement,” Nickler said in a social media announcement. “I helped open BOK Center in 2008. A decade later, my daughter visited the arena on the day she was born. I could tell a thousand stories about all of the incredible experiences in this building, but more than the concerts it was the people I had the privilege of working with who made it so special.”
Nickler, who told CelebrityAccess he will make his plans known in the near future, has been credited with having a strong influence on SMG-managed BOK Center receiving the Arena of the Year award by the International Entertainment Buyers Association in 2016, beating out arenas like Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden and the Forum. That same year, Tulsa World Magazine named him Tulsan of the Year.
Nickler was especially grateful to all of Oklahoma for welcoming him for the past 11 years. Although he has not formerly revealed details of his “new adventure,” his announcement was met with hundreds of well wishes, from TMG chief Louis Messina to Tacoma Venues & Events Director Kim Bedier to representatives of Nederlander Concerts.
