LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) The Rolling Stones may be waylaid by Mick Jagger’s ticker, but it appears to be a short-term situation with sources saying that the band’s postponed tour could be rescheduled for as early as July.
The Stones had to postpone 17 dates because Jagger needs to get a heart valve replaced but most appear to be on the way to rescheduling with the one exception the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival appearance May 2. Organizers are reportedly looking for a replacement.
“We’re beginning to look at the rescheduling options and we’re going to try and do this as quickly as we can,” Concerts West Co-CEO John Meglen told Billboard. “Everyone’s health and happiness comes first.”
Meglen said the new dates could be announced “in the next couple of weeks.”
The postponed dates, mostly at NFL stadiums, may need to be truncated from a 10-week run to an eight-week run before football season kicks off in September, Billboard noted.
