MANHATTAN (CelebrityAccess) Live Nation is reportedly looking to build a 3,000-capacity concert venue in lower Manhattan, hoping to lease 80,000 square feet inside the American Stock Exchange building on Trinity Place.

The company and its partner in the venture, Legends, made their first presentation of the plan to convert the building into a facility for live music and events space at a community board meeting Wednesday evening, according to Crain’s New York Business. The approvals would include a liquor license. The license is actually issued by the State Liquor Authority but the agency considers input from community boards in its determination.

Live Nation currently hosts concerts downtown on the roof of Pier 17 at the Howard Hughes Corporation’s South Street Seaport.
