VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (CelebrityAccess) Floatopia, a massive party at Chic’s Beach along the coastline at Virginia Beach, Va., may have drawn a large crowd but it also left behind about 10 tons of trash.

City Councilman Michael Berlucchi posted an image from the beach, saying there was “trash all over our beautiful Chesapeake Bay” and “We can do better. In comparison to the 20,000 pounds of trash left behind from the Sunday event, Florida volunteers picked up a reported nine tons of trash on Pensacola-area beaches throughout all of last year, according to USA Today. A typical weekend at Chic’s Beach garners about a ton of trash.

A Facebook video shows two plastic trash barrels stuffed and surrounded by trash plus abandoned rafts, boxes and cans.

Floatopia is a day of “drinking and lounging in the Chesapeake Bay,” according to WCNC-TV.
