PARIS (CelebrityAccess) — Three Michael Jackson fan clubs in France are suing Wade Robson and James Safechuck who accused the singer of years of sexual abuse in the HBO documentary “Leaving Neverland,” according to The Associated Press.
The lawsuit reportedly accuses the two men of unfairly harming the reputation of the King of Pop, who died in 2009.
A lawyer for the fan clubs, Emmanuel Ludot, who appeared during a hearing in the French city of Orleans on Thursday, reportedly told the court that he is seeking conviction under French law against the public denunciation of a dead person.
The fan clubs are asking for one euro each in symbolic damages, reports AP.
