LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Mike Biggane, Spotify’s head of global curation strategy, is reportedly leaving the streaming giant for Universal Music Group (UMG), according to Billboard.
Biggane joined Spotify in 2014 as the company’s head of pop programming. During his tenure with the streaming service, he oversaw some of its most influential playlists, including New Music Friday and Today’s Top Hits, which currently boasts over 23.7 million followers. Prior to that, Biggane served as director of operations at the predictive song research and music testing company HitPredictor.
He was named Spotify’s global head of curation strategy this past January.
Biggane will reportedly remain with Spotify for another month before departing on good terms in pursuit of a better offer.
