(CelebrityAccess) — Warner Bros.’ spooky “IT Chapter Two” took the top spot at the box office, earning $91.0 million from North American theaters and dethroning last week’s champion “Angel Has Fallen” according to estimates compiled by Comscore.
The film, which stars James MacAvoy, Bill Hader, Jessica Chastain, Bill Skarsgard, Thomas Jay Ryan, James Ransone, set multiple records, including the second biggest horror film debut of all time and the second-biggest September debut, behind only the original “It.” The film was also the highest-grossing R-rated movie of 2019.
Internationally, “It Chapter Two” earned 94m from 25,945 screens in 75 markets around the world for a global opening weekend cume of $185M.
“Angel Has Fallen” slid to second place this weekend, earning $6.0 million for a North American cume through Sunday of $53.46 million.
“Good Boys,” now in its fourth weekend earns $5.39 million in North America and 2.3M in 29 international territories, bringing its global cume to $82.4M.
