(CelebrityAccess) — Steven Van Zandt has pulled the plug on all but two dates on his current fall tour, due to illness.
Van Zandt, who has been touring with his band, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul, canceled a handful of dates last week due to illness, but now, on doctor’s orders, he has canceled the lion’s share of the remaining shows on the run.
“I thought I could shake this sinusitis, but it doesn’t seem to be going away. I’ve never canceled shows before. I feel terrible about this, but my doctors are telling me there’s just no way to continue right now. We were really looking forward to continuing this 90-show tour around the world. We want to thank the fans for all of their support. I really hope we can make up these dates someday somehow,” he said in a statement announcing the cancellation.
At present, only two dates of the 18 shows Van Zandt had scheduled for the fall segment of the tour are still on the books,- Nov. 2 at the Chevalier Theatre in Medford, Mass., and Nov. 6 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
Van Zandt, 68, is best known as a longtime member of Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band but has been touring in support of “Summer of Sorcery” his latest album with the Disciples of Soul.
