AUSTRALIA (CelebityAccess) – Elton John surprised concertgoers over the weekend when he went off on a pair of security guards he reportedly spotted trying to eject a female fan from one of his shows.
The incident, which was captured by a fan on Twitter, occurred on Sunday (Dec. 1) at Perth’s HBF Park during the second of two concerts in Western Australia as part of John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour.
John stopped the concert and took to the microphone to say: “Hey, you two security guards with the girl. F— off. Bring her back here immediately. Come on you c—s. Morons, you both are, morons. You don’t treat girls like that. Leave her alone, you turds.”
He added: “I apologize for the ‘c-word,’ I just hate people being assaulted, especially women by security guards. I have a pet hate of security guards anyway.”
While many in the crowd cheered during John’s expletive-laden rant, a VenuesWest spokesperson later said the company’s security team acted appropriately under the circumstances.
John’s management team has not released an official statement on the incident.
The music icon is scheduled to play 40 additional shows across Australia and New Zealand as part of his farewell tour.
