SEOUL (CelebrityAccess) – South Korean actor, Cha In-ha, has died.
The 27-year-old was reportedly found dead by his manager in his home in Seoul on Tuesday (Dec. 3), according to local police. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Cha, whose real name is Lee Jae-ho, made his film debut in 2017 and was previously a member of K-pop boy band Surprise U.
“We’re sincerely hurt that we’re sending this sad news to the people who have given Cha In-ha so much love and supported him until now,” a representative from Fantagio, Cha’s agency, said in a statement to Korean daily newspaper Hankook Ilbo. The company also asked the public and media to refrain from spreading stories about his death during this difficult time.
Cha is the country’s third young celebrity to die in the past two months. In October, popular K-pop singer, Koo Hara, 28, was found dead inside her home, while fellow K-pop star, Sulli, 25, died following a suspected suicide.
Their deaths have raised concerns about the mounting pressures faced by those in the K-pop scene.
