LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — On Monday, United Talent Agency announced the hire of veteran talent and literary agent Andrea Nelson Meigs, who joins the agency as a partner.
Meigs, who will be based in UTA’s Los Angeles office, most recently served as a Senior Talent and Literary Agent at ICM Partners for more than a decade. Her C.V. also includes CAA, where she started in the mail room and worked her way up to become a Motion Picture Talent Agent.
In addition to her work as a talent agent, she is an attorney, member of the California Bar and practiced law at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office before making the jump to entertainment.
Over the course of her career, Meigs has represented a client roster that includes Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Idris Elba, Halle Berry, Christina Applegate, Ellen Burstyn, Quvenzhane Wallis, Aunjanue Ellis, Matthew A. Cherry, Jill Scott, Tina Gordon, Stefon Bristol, Julian Bass, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Kylie Rogers, among others.
She also serves on the Board of Directors for Women in Film, an organization dedicated to achieving gender equality in the film and television industry. She’s also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Entertainment Committee for Time’s Up, the American Black Film Festival committee, the Advisory Committee for the Black Filmmakers Foundation, and the Ebell Theater of Los Angeles.
