LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Sam Fender has cancelled his remaining tour dates for 2024 after suffering an injury to his vocal cord.
Affected performances include Glasgow on Tuesday night and his show at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Friday.
In a social media post, Fender said he has been sick with the flu for several days and a visit to the doctor revealed that he had suffered a vocal cord hemmorhage in his right vocal cord.
“I’ve had two ENT doctors say that if I perform…I’m risking lasting damage to my voice and have been advised to be on vocal rest and not use my voice for a prolonged length of time until it heals,” he shared on social media.
According to the post, Fender and his team are “trying to figure out a way to reschedule the impacted shows.”
Fender is slated to begin a North American tour in February, starting at Webster Hall in New York on February 11th.
