NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Country star Morgan Wallen captured his first-ever Entertainer of the Year title at the 58th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night, solidifying his status as one of country music’s biggest stars.
While Wallen claimed the top honor, Chris Stapleton dominated the evening, taking home three major awards: Single of the Year and Song of the Year for his hit “White Horse,” as well as Male Vocalist of the Year. These wins brought Stapleton’s CMA total to 19, tying him with Brooks & Dunn, who snagged Vocal Duo of the Year, for the record of most wins in CMA history.
Other big winners included Old Dominion, crowned Vocal Group of the Year, and Lainey Wilson, who earned her second consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year title.
“Country Music’s Biggest Night” delivered star-studded performances from Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde, Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, and Lainey Wilson, among others. Collaborative highlights included Kelsea Ballerini with Noah Kahan, Brooks & Dunn with Jelly Roll, and Post Malone teaming up with Chris Stapleton.
The legendary George Strait was celebrated with the 2024 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, featuring a tribute performance alongside Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Parker McCollum, Jamey Johnson, and Stapleton—capped off with a surprise appearance by Strait himself.
Hosted by Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson, the ceremony was held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, with the Country Music Association’s Robert Deaton, Alan Carter, and Jon Macks at the helm as Executive Producer, Director, and Head Writer, respectively.
