PILTON, Somerset (CelebrityAccess) — Rod Stewart is lined up to perform as a “legend” at the Glastonbury Festival in 2025, marking his return to the high profile event’s stage for the first time in more than two decades.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing Glastonbury Festivals 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there,” Stewart shared on social media after the announcement on Tuesday.
Stewart, who is 79, last performed at the iconic British music festival in 2002. The news of his scheduled performance comes just days after the rock veteran announced that he was done with large scale tour but added that he wasn’t ready to retire just yet.
“I love what I do, and I do what I love. I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79,” Stewart shared via social media last week.
Stewart is one of the best-selling artists in modern music, with more than 250 million album and singles sales ot his name. Swing Fever, his most recent album, a collaboration with Jools Holland, was his 11th #1 album in the UK.
