3 Doors Down In The Flashlight

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – When a nearby tree took down some power lines and cut off power to Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center halfway through alternative rock group 3 Doors Down’s set on August 3rd, the band and building staff worked together to help complete the show.

The outage hit about 10 p.m., about halfway through the group’s 70-minute set. As emergency lights came on in the venue and a small generators were hooked up, the band’s frontman, Ben Arnold and drummer Greg Upchurch cooked up an acoustic set.

Arnold explained to the audience what had happened, and performed a few songs a cappella with help during the choruses from the crowd. Upchurch joined him for about half of the songs using a snare drum.

Stagehands and a security guard shined flashlights on the stage to help illuminate the performance – a far cry from the stage show and spotlight the group is used to.

While tickets for the show will not be refunded, the band and Riverbend are currently in talks to possibly schedule a second show in September. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
