ENCINO, CA (October 30, 2007) – The Academy of Country Music is announcing its new board of directors for the 2007-2008 term. This year, there are seven qualifying professional categories that are elected by the Academy’s membership. In addition to those elected, at-large positions have been appointed by Chairman, Mark Hartley and President, Rod Essig. Directors are elected from each category based on number of members in that category and each director serves staggered two-year terms, with half the board membership changing each year.
‘Our board of directors is very involved in the Academy’s day-to-day operations,’ said Bob Romeo, Executive Director of the Academy of Country Music. ‘Our working board has always had a history of achieving goals in a timely manner and staying ahead of the curve within our industry. I am very excited to welcome our new board of directors and welcome back our continuing board.’
