AEG Facilities Debuts Three Major Stadiums In 2013


LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In just a few months, AEG Facilities has added three major new stadiums on two continents to its roster of venues — Estádio Maracanã (Rio de Janeiro) and Itaipava Arena Pernambuco (Recife), in Rio de Janeiro and Recife, Brazil, respectively; and the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The latest addition, Tele2 opened officially this week with a concert featuring Swedish artists Robyn, Lars Winnerbäck and Kent, who performed to a sold-out crowd of 39,714. The concert was one of four events to take place Stockholm site that also includes a 16,000-seat arena. Other highlights of the opening, attended by over 100,000 guests, included a concert with Swedish Pop Band Gyllene Tider and three soccer matches.

The addition of these three stadiums brings AEG Facilities portfolio of major sports venues to 11 total, including O.co Coliseum (Oakland, Ca.), StubHub Center (Carson, Ca.), Farmers Field (Los Angeles, Ca.), BBVA Compass Stadium (Houston, Tx.), Dalian Stadium (Dalian, China), Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane, Australia), Allianz Parque (Sao Paulo, Brasil) and Arena da Baixada (Curitiba, Brasil).

Upcoming events at Tele2 Arena include home matches featuring the tenant football clubs Djurgårdens IF Fotbollsförening and Hammarby IF, the Swedish American Football Championship Final (September 7), Nitro Circus Live (September 16) and Volbeat live in concert (November 26). – Staff Writers
