GLENDALE, AZ (CelebrityAccess) — The City of Glendale has announced that are considering AEG to manage the Gila River Arena.
The news came via a notice of intent from the city, who will start negotating with AEG Facilities to manage the city-owned arena at the Westgate Entertainment District., the Phoenix Business Journal reported.
The arena had previously been managed by its tenant, the Arizona Coyotes. The team did not make a bid to continue operating the facility.
Other companies that responded to the RFP to oversee the arena included SMG and Spectra.
“We felt AEG gets hockey better than anybody else in the world,” Glendale city manager Kevin Phelps told local public radio station KJZZ. – Staff Writers
