BOSTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The iconic rock band Aerosmith has announced that they are hitting the road this summer for a tour of North America.
Kicking off in Minneapoolis on June 16th at the Target Center, the tour will run through July before wrapping on on August 8th in Tacoma, Washington when the band performs at the Tacoma Dome. According to Live Nation, a second leg to the tour will be announced in the fullness of time. With the excepetion of Summerfest in Milwaukee, no festival dates are listed on the itinerary.
Cheap Trick will provide support on all current dates.
"The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with your mothers," said frontman Steven Tyler.
According to Rolling Stone, the band is finally close to releasing their long-promised 15th studio album, which has been promised to ship in May, 2012. Aerosmith's last new material was 2004's "Honkin' on Bobo" which drew praise from critics and peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200.
