Representative Anthony Weiner, D-New York, has become the second congressman to ask Washington to check into the practices of Clear Channel Entertainment. Weiner, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, is urging officials to examine the sale of Metropolitan Entertainment Group to Mitch Slater, a former CCE executive. After MEG chose Slater over CCE, MEG was dismissed as the promoter of Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA, and CCE was named the new promoter. A CCE spokesperson told CelebrityAccess that the company has done nothing wrong and they were selected based on their track record.
In January, Rep. Howard Berman, D-Calif., urged both the Justice Department and the FCC to look into several of Clear Channel's business practices.
