PERTH, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In the wake of the malicious murders of two teenage school girls in Australia, officials across the continent are calling for a ban on the band’s performances, due to lyrics glorifying “child rape, suicide, murder and necrophilia.”
Community groups have joined in the fight, according to the West Australian newspaper, calling for a show at Perth’s Club Capitol on October 10th to be cancelled, and a full continent-wide tour to be pulled.
Shadow Police Minister Rob Johnson has said he is disgusted by the band’s highly explicit songs, including “Dismembered and Molested” and “Necropedophile.”
“They should be banned from appearing here,” he told the paper. “There is enough violence and youth suicide in [West Australia] already without any encouragement from awful groups like this. I feel sick at the thought of those lyrics being sung to the youth of WA.”
The band’s Australia/New Zealand tour makes seven stops between October 3rd and October 10th. The band has not yet responded to all of the reports. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
