LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Michiel Bakker, the head of MTV Networks in the UK and Ireland has announced that he is departing the firm after 20 years.
His announcement comes less than a day after parent company Viacom announced plans to layoff 250 people from MTV's international operations.
Bakker was instrumental in the development of MTV's European business, including taking the lead roll in deploying digital services and developing Viacom Brand Solutions.
He will be replaced in the short term by Heather Jones, SVP and managing director of music and comedy. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
