NEW ORLEANS, LA (CelebrityAccess) — Blackbird Presents announced the details of New Orleans Is Waiting For Columbus, an all-star concert intended to celebrate the band Little Feat's iconic live album "Waiting For Columbus".
The Waiting For Columbus concert will be led by musical director Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Don Was, with singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson, The Radiators’ Dave Malone, keyboardist John Medeski, legendary funk drummer Terence Higgins (Dirty Dozen Brass Band, John Scofield’s Piety Street Band), horns master Mark Mullins (Bonerama, Harry Connick Jr.), and as with all Blackbird Presents events, special surprise guests are also expected.
The 1978 album – which went platinum and remains Little Feat’s best-selling of all time – features the band’s biggest hits, including the funky 1970’s New Orleans-style tracks such as “Dixie Chicken,” “Fat Man In The Bathtub,” and “Willin’.”
