AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess) — C3 Presents, the promoter behind the the Austin City Limits festival, has purchased The Scoot Inn, a popular bar and live music venue in Austin.
"We'll be releasing more information in the coming weeks, but we're looking forward to booking live music and curating events at this one-of-a-kind venue with nearly a century and a half of history in Austin," C3 Principal Charles Attal said in a statement.
C3 acquired the historic venue from Doug Guller of ATX Brands, who also owns the restaurant chain Bikinis as well as another Austin music venue, The Parish. According to the Houston Chronicle, the deal encompasses the business but not the land the Scoot Inn sits on.
According to its website, The Scoot Inn began its life in 1871 as a general goods and grocery store, but was converted into an saloon in 1955 by Aubrey "Scoot" Ivy.
