With Cheap Trick's drummer Bun E. Carlos having a bad back, forcing him to have surgery and off the skins, the band tried to figure out a replacement. It was not a long, tedious search either. Daxx Nielsen, the son of guitarist Rick Nielsen, has gotten the dream of a lifetime — playing with his dad in his dad's band, Cheap Trick.
Carlos will return once he recuperates from his July 19 operation. Daxx's regular band Harmony Riley is also booked on close to half of Cheap Trick's upcoming shows so it will be double duty those nights for the youngster.
