Coldplay Plans Major North American Tour

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Coldplay has announced their plans for a new North American tour in support of their latest release "Viva La Vida" which is set to drop on June 17th.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off in Philly at the Wachovia Center on June 29th, and will bring Coldplay throughout the US and Canada before winding down in Salt Lake City at the UT Energy Solutions Arena.

The band's last major outing, the "Twisted Logic Tour", took place in 2005-2006 and except for a brief stint of dates in South America last year, the band's been huddled in the studio with Brian Eno (Yes, THE Brian Eno), hard at work on their next album.

To whet the appetites of fans for the forthcoming tour, the band will play a pair of free concerts in London on June 16th at the Brixton Academy and then in NYC on June 23rd at MSG. Information about getting tickets for said events is available on the band's website.
