LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The decision to move the The Electric Daisy Carnival electronic music festival from L.A. to Las Vegas appears to have been a good one as the event is reporting selling more than 85,000 tickets in the first 24 hours.
Produced by Insomniac, the festival has been expanded to three days and will be staged fron June 24-26 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Headliners for this year's event include Tiesto, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia.
The festival is one of five Electric Daisy events on the books, with others planned for Orlando (May 27 & 28) , Denver (June 11), Dallas (June 18) and Puerto Rico (August 27.)
The rave was staged last year in Los Angeles at the Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park but sparked controversy over the use of public facilities for electronic music events after more than 100 attendees were hospitalized, mostly for drug intoxication. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
