Former Queens Of The Stoneage Bassist Avoids Jail Time After SWAT Standoff


LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Nick Oliveri, former bassist of Queens of the Stone Age has managed to avoid jail time after his most recent brush with celebrity – a four-hour standoff with a police tactical team at his L.A. home.

Oliveri had locked himself and his girlfriend in their apartment after a voluable domestic dispute was reported by police. After a four-hour siege by SWAT officers, Oliveri surrendered and police discovered a loaded shotgun, cocaine and ethamphetamines.

At the time, Oliveri was hit with a slew of charges, including drug felony domestic violence charges, and had faced up to 15 years in prison. However, Oliveri won't be spending any more time behind bars as it turns out. According to TMZ, Oliveri cut a deal with prosecutors that will see him plead to one cocaine charge with the rest being dropped.
