STURGIS, S.D. – Four people when a motorcycle stunt went awry during a concert at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Buffalo Chip Campground spokeswoman Nyla Griffith told the Rapid City Journal that the accident occurred when a stunt performer attempted a 'burn out' on stage between performances by Lita Ford and Kid Rock. During the stunt, the rider lost control of the motorcycle and it ran off stage and into the crowd.
Four people required medical attention and were treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was no clear at the time of publication.
The annual rally officially kicked off in Sturgis on Monday. Last year, the event drew a record-breaking 739,000 people. – Staff Writers
