Foxwoods Taps Victoria As New Marketing Head

LEDYARD (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises has promoted Robert Victoria to Chief Marketing Officer of Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Victoria previously served as Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing for Foxwoods.

Victoria's new portfolio will include casino services, promotions, customer development, entertainment procurement, resort & hotel sales, advertising, database marketing, e-commerce, public relations and brand management for the Foxwoods resort casino.

A gaming industry veteran with more than eighteen years of experience under his belt, Victoria worked for both Harrah's and the Seneca Gaming Corporation before he joined the Foxwoods team in 1992. He left to puruse other opportunties in the industry in 1996, but returned to Foxwoods in 2009 as the Senior Vice president of Consumer Marketing.

In his previous role at Foxwoods, Victoria struck a number of key marketing deals, including the placement of the Foxwoods logo on the jerseys of the New York Liberty, the first time a casino logo has ever been branded on the front of a professional sports team's uniform. Other deals included a presenting sponsorship deal with Live Nation's House of Blues in Boston and other sports placements with teams like the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, and the New York Rangers.

Victoria also led the development of the Foxwoods iPhone application, the first-ever resort-casino branded application launched by Apple. The program brings the Foxwoods experience to both the iPhone and the iTouch, boasting a free 'game play' feature, which enables users to play Foxwoods themed casino games on the handheld devices. It also opens a line to the resort's concierge service straight to the users’ phone.

"I’m honored to be appointed Chief Marketing Officer of the East Coast’s premiere entertainment destination," said Victoria. "I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish since I arrived back here at Foxwoods and look forward to continuing my work with executive leadership and my incredible staff." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
