LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Country music legend Merle Haggard has been hospitalized in California for treatment of a case of double pneumonia.
“Due to a persistent reoccurring bout of double pneumonia, Merle Haggard is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in California and has had to postpone his concert dates in March,” according to the statement released by Haggard's publicst. “He looks forward to seeing his fans on his next tour in April. However, per doctor’s orders, he is going to take one more month off from life on the road to rest and recover from his latest bout with pneumonia.”
As a result of Haggard's hospitalization, he has cancelled all of his dates in March, including shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on March 8th & 9th; The Johnny Mercer Theatre on March 10th and the Florida Strawberry Festival on March 12th.
The 78-year-old artist had previously been hospitalized in December and cancelled some dates in February from a previous bout with pneumonia, but resume touring late last month. – Staff Writers
