House Of Blues Dallas Begins Construction, To Open Early 2007

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — With a House of Blues club to open in Houston next year, Texas is on a roll with a House of Blues set for Dallas to be located at the city’s 75-acre, $3 billion plus Victory Park urban core development; construction began June 1. A lease was signed with Laws Street Development, L.P., a partnership between Hillwood and Tomlinson-Leis Corporation. The restaurant and 1,600 capacity performance space is slated to open in early 2007 and will provide a venue for local and national touring artists, distinctive Southern-inspired cuisine, a unique décor incorporating items from of one of the largest collections of outsider folk art in the United States and a Foundation Room – a private membership lounge and fine dining space.

House of Blues will join the American Airlines Center and a myriad of other attractions currently under construction at Victory Park, including a landmark, outdoor digital media installation and the W Dallas Victory Hotel & Residences. House of Blues Dallas will be located at 2200 North Lamar.

Although House of Blues Concerts, Inc. already maintains a strong concert promotion presence in Dallas via Smirnoff Music Centre, House of Blues Entertainment, Inc. demonstrates a continuation of its aggressive club development strategy in targeting the Dallas market as a site for one of its branded clubs.

“House of Blues is committed to bringing a multi-faceted entertainment and restaurant venue to the Dallas market and is very excited to be a part of the Victory Park development,” said Liam Thornton, senior vice president of Development, House of Blues Entertainment, Inc. “We’ve enjoyed being an integral part of the greater Dallas community through our House of Blues Concerts-promoted venue, Smirnoff Music Centre, and are extremely optimistic about the market. We look forward to working closely with Victory Park in continuing to build and share our brand of live music and hospitality in a unique club setting.”

“House of Blues Dallas will be an exciting addition to Victory Park, which will offer residents and visitors an unrivaled environment for world-class entertainment, shopping and dining,” said Jonas Woods, president of Hillwood Capital. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
