ICM Artists To Relaunch As Opus 3 Artists

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — ICM Artists, in its new formation as an independent artist management firm, has announced the company will be renamed Opus 3 Artists, effective immediately. The company’s re-launch marks the next evolution in the agency’s 30-year legacy as an international leader in managing the careers and touring activities of some of the world's most distinguished performing artists and ensembles.

The announcement of the new name corresponds with the firm’s move in July to new offices located at 470 Park Avenue South, at 32nd St.

Emblematic of the third generation of excellence for the firm, Opus 3 Artists traces its roots to the pioneering work of the legendary Sol Hurok, the first and greatest American impresario, whose work began in the 1920s and lasted through the 1970’s. With the goal of furthering Hurok’s legacy, ICM Artists was formed from Hurok Concerts in 1976 as a subsidiary of International Creative Management, Inc. (ICM) under the leadership of the late Sheldon Gold from 1976 until 1985, who was succeeded by Lee Lamont from 1985 to 1995. David V. Foster took over the leadership of ICM Artists in 1995. Mr. Foster will continue in his executive role as President and CEO of Opus 3 Artists, sharing leadership responsibilities with Managing Partner Byron Gustafson.

“As an independent company, Opus 3 Artists will be able to respond immediately to our artists’ needs and to develop and execute projects on their behalf with new flexibility and freedom,” said Mr. Foster. “Our new business structure enables us to concentrate our resources where they will be most effective—on our artists’ activities throughout the world.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
