DALLAS, Oregon (CelebrityAccess) — Miley Cyrus's date for the VMAs has turned himself in to police on an outstanding warrant. According to officials in Oregon, Helt surrendered himself at the Polk County Jail in Dallas, Oregon. He subsequently was released after posting $2,000 in bail.
As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, 22-year-old Jesse Helt was sought by authorities in Oregon on a warrant for violation of probation. Helt was on probation in connection to charges including criminal trespass after breaking into an apartment of a man whom Helt believed had sold him bad marijuana. Helt violated his probation when he went to Los Angeles to pursue dreams of becoming a model.
Helt came to the attention of officials in Oregon when he accepted the award for Video of the Year on behalf of Cyrus at the award ceremony on August 24th.
"I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost, and scared for their lives right now," Helt said at the time. "I know this because I am one of these people." – Staff Writers
