LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Douglas Lyon has been appointed Executive Director of The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. by Gay Blackstone, President of the prestigious club for magic professionals and enthusiasts whose clubhouse is The Magic Castle in Hollywood.
“I have known and worked with Doug Lyon for many years and am extremely pleased to add this tremendous talent to our team,” said Blackstone.

Lyon has over 30 years’ experience in entertainment marketing including national and international touring stage productions. He has served as creative consultant and talent consultant on many television shows, films and stage productions. These include three television specials and a stint as Vice President of Production and General Manager of the stage show “Doug Henning’s World of Magic.” Lyon conceived, created, marketed and produced “Snoopy’s World of Magic,” Yamaha’s “Soundcheck” International Music Festival, The Kodak “Liberty Ride” and the “Unlock the Magic Tour – Starring Harry Blackstone, Jr.” He originated and managed the international fan clubs for Michael Jackson, Don Johnson, Lionel Ritchie and Melissa Etheridge.
Lyon also directed marketing for many major concert tours including those of Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Barry Manilow, the Bee Gees and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
