Man Allegedly Kills Mother Over Lavigne Tickets

CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A 39-year-old Illinois Avril Lavigne fan has been arrested after allegedly killing his 61-year-old mother when she failed to purchase him skybox tickets to a concert by the pop-punk princess.

According to police and prosecutors, the man, Robert Lyons, became enraged when his mother Linda Bolek refused to arrange for the tickets through a friend. Police say that after an argument, Lyons beat and stabbed his mother to death, though Lyons claims that Bolek allegedly threatened to stab him in the eye with a kitchen knife.

Prosecutors then allege that Lyons poured household chemicals on the body and went shopping for several hours before police arrested him at a nearby "Hooters" restaurant.

"This defendant was so angry with his mother that he bludgeoned and repeatedly stabbed her in a fit of rage," Assistant State's Attorney Ann Celine. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
