MANCHESTER, UK (CelebrityAccess) — Construction crews at Manchester Arena are "working extremely hard" to be ready for their planned September reopening following a deadly bombing attack outside of the venue at the end of a May concert by Ariana Grande.
In a statement released on the Arena's Twitter feed on July 6th was scant on specifics but seemed optimistic about the venue's plans for a September re-opening and teased upcoming shows and events for the end of the year.
"The renovation work has now started on the main public area outside of the arena and we are working extremely hard to ensure our re-opening in early September. We will continue to keep you informed as much as possible on our official re-opening date and up and coming show information. We still have some great events to announce for 2017 and of course 2018," the statement said.
SMG Worldwide, who operate the arena, announced their September re-opening plans last month, necessitating the rescheduling of a number of concerts planned for the arena over the summer, including shows by Celine Dion, blink-182, Radiohead, and Rainbow.
