With tickets priced $45-$500 for Michael Jackson's Sept. 7 and Sept. 10 extravaganza at Madison Square Garden, VIP packages are also available for a steep (what else) price.
World Events, headed by producer Davis Gest, has sent out invitations for the event with the following packages for an "unforgettable salute," over "two nights" in "one city" on "one stage" featuring "one man."
For $50,000 purchasers get 10 seats to one of the concerts and includes admission to the special post-concert "Champagne and Caviar All-Star Dinner and Carnival" at the Tavern on the Green on Sept. 7, where guests will have access to Jackson and receive a signed poster.
For $30,000 you get the same package as above but without access to Jackson. For $15,000, you get dinner and the show minus the poster and Jackson.
The "dinner committee" lists 140 people including Snoop Dogg, Charles Bronson, Buzz Alden, Emanuel Lewis, Amazon.com chief Jeff Bezos, Claudia Cardinale, Macaulay Culkin, Marvin Davis, Rhonda Fleming, David Hasselhoff, L.A. Laker Kobe Bryant, Esther Williams, Hayley Mills, Jane Russell, Denise Rich, Fred MacMurray's widow, June Haver MacMurray, and every member of Jackson's family except sisters Janet and LaToya and brother Jermaine.
No designated charity, which is customary, was on the VIP invitations.
