Miles Davis Concert Film Headlines At Jazz Festivals

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

Music industry executives Danny Kapilian and Dan Melnick have obtained the exclusive screening
rights to the jazz film "Miles Electric: A Different Kind Of Blue" for
jazz festivals in North America this summer and fall. "In cooperation with producer/director Murray Lerner," says
Kapilian,a concert and special events producer, "we have retained the exclusive rights to screen this recently
completed film. This performance was a historic turning-point for Miles,
and the film is an incredible documentation of this unique moment."

"Presenters can screen it in conjunction with a festival or
concert series," suggests Melnick, who is booking the film independent of
Fesival Productions, Inc., where he is the artistic director and a senior
producer, "or create an event and include a live band. Outdoor/indoor,
free or paid. It's Miles like you've never seen or heard him before."

"Miles Electric: A Different Kind Of Blue" documents Miles Davis' 1970 Isle
of Wight Festival performance in front of 600,000 people. It is also available on an Eagle Rock DVD, which includes interviews with musicians who were a part of this transitional
moment in American music, including Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett, in
addition to those who were profoundly affected by his innovations – Herbie
Hancock, Carlos Santana and Joni Mitchell, among others.

The production credits are: produced and directed by Murray
Lerner; edited by Einar Westerlund and Edward Goldberg. Running time: 87
minutes. This film is not rated. With Miles Davis, Carlos Santana, Joni
Mitchell, Stanley Crouch, Bob Belden, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Jack
