Morgan Freeman Drops WMA After 40 Years

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Morgan Freeman has reportedly ended one of the longest representation relationships in Hollywood, dropping agent Jeff Hunter and the William Morris Agency and moving to CAA.

The Oscar-winning actor had spend over 40 years with Hunter, who discovered Freeman when he was a struggling stage actor in New York, and moonlighting in the cast of public television show “The Electric Company.”

Variety reports that Freeman has been courted by CAA for years, and the move comes as his ambitions grow with Revelations Entertainment, the production company he runs with Lori McCreary. They recently hired Ann Dubinet to run newly formed Global Revelations, which create offshore alliances for producing projects. Revelations’ emphasis on technology made it a good fit with tech-savvy CAA, which will represent Revelations as well.

Freeman will next be seen starring with Steve Carell in the Tom Shadyac-directed “Evan Almighty.” He recently completed filming “The Bucket List” with Jack Nicholson, and is currently shooting “Wanted” and Batman-sequel “The Dark Knight.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
