PENTICTON, BC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Global Spectrum, the management company that operates the new 5,000 seat South Okanagan Event Centre, named Curtis Webb, a 10-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry, as the facility's general manager. The venue will open in 2008.
"Mr. Webb's experience will be invaluable as the City of Penticton and Global Spectrum enter into this new venture," said Penticton Mayor Jake Kimberley. "I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Curtis to Penticton and I am sure he and his family will thoroughly enjoy all this community has to offer."
Webb, who was most recently director of Operations at the Global Spectrum-managed Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the South Okanagan Event Centre, Memorial Arena and the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre, including the booking, scheduling, financial review, marketing, public relations and maintenance of the multi-facility complex. His official start date is May 22.
"Curtis is the perfect individual to lead our efforts in Penticton," said Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page. "His experience at the multi-facility Larimer County Fairgrounds has provided him with the background to maximize opportunities and enjoyment for our customers, as well as provide guidance and cooperation for our client in Penticton."
