MusicNet Promotes Greenberg And Jones To SVP

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

MusicNet has promoted Paul Greenberg to senior vice president of Business Development and Partner Relations and John Jones to senior vice president of Programming, Artist and Label Relations. Both executives, who have been with the company for several years and previously held the title of vice president, will report directly to Alan McGlade, MusicNet's president and CEO.

"Paul and John have each played integral roles throughout the evolution of MusicNet and are largely responsible for our ongoing success as the world's leading business-to-business digital music services provider," said Alan McGlade, president and CEO of MusicNet. "Building a global distribution network of such world renowned brands as AOL, Yahoo!, Virgin and HMV and an unrivaled catalog of more than 1.5 million tracks was something that we aspired to do and have achieved in a relatively short period of time due to their expertise, dedication and passion for building a digital music marketplace."

Greenberg is responsible for identifying, expanding and managing MusicNet's global roster of distribution partners. In addition to heading up all of the company's business development and sales efforts, he oversees partner relations, marketing and public relations to ensure seamless integrations and the continued expansion of business relationships with MusicNet's partners.

Prior to MusicNet, Greenberg held the position of vice president of Business Operations for MTV.com, where he was responsible for managing the integration of the site's major operating divisions and developed new content revenue streams to help double site revenue and traffic in one year. Before that, he served as vice president of Business Development at MTVi, where he negotiated major strategic partnerships. He also helped develop and execute the company's wireless and content syndication strategy, including pricing and distribution. He also held the position of director of Business Development for MTV Networks. Prior to MTV Networks, he was a sports announcer on 1010 WINS Radio in New York City.

Jones has spent almost two decades in the music industry pioneering innovative and interactive ways for fans to access their favorite music. He is responsible for managing relationships with MusicNet's numerous music partners including all five major record labels and their subsidiaries as well as a plethora of independent labels. In addition, he oversees the entire catalog of music in the MusicNet service accounting for pushing tracks into the system, clearing their publishing rights and making millions of tracks available to consumers through MusicNet's distributors. He also manages all aspects of programming and bringing original content to the service.

Prior to joining MusicNet, Jones was involved creating the concept of delivering on-demand music through the TV. At World Theatre Inc. and The Box Music Network, he was in charge of music programming including creating promotions both on- and off-line, developing strategic partnerships and integrating branding and marketing to ultimately enhance viewership. Prior to that, he spent more than five years overseeing music programming and as senior producer at MuchMusic, a music TV channel aired throughout the US and Canada, where he was recognized as one of the most influential people in Canadian television. He was responsible for network programming, producing music performances, interviews and stunts to drive viewership, and executing online programming. He started his career in radio, as music director at Canadian stations including CFNY-FM and CHFI-FM, where his efforts resulted in both stations being recognized as "Station Of The Year" and was awarded "Music Director of The Year." — jane Cohe4n and Bob Grossweiner
