LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — CelebrityAccess has learned that manager/producer Peter Asher seems to have joined Simon Renshaw's Strategic Artist Management. As of yet, there is no word about which artists are going with him but a press release is expected tomorrow.
Asher is a well-known record producer, manager and artist. In the 1960s, he was one half of the duo Peter & Gordon, who recorded unreleased Lennon & McCartney material through a family connection. After the duo's collaboration came to an end, he then transitioned into A&R for the Beatles label Apple Records where he signed an unknown James Taylor, serving as producer on his first album.
Asher has been a force in the music industry since, working with artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt and Ten Thousand Maniacs. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
